As far as the size of the companies is con-
cerned, one in three (15 - 33%) participants
work for a shipping company managing
at least 26 ships. 9% of the companies
manage up to five vessels, 18% manage
between six and ten ships, 15.5% manage
11 to 15 ships, 15.5% manage 16 to 20 ships, Profitability
and 9% manage 21 to 25 ships. 19%
Green Shipping: The current most signif-
icant challenge
One of the questions the participants
were called to answer was about the pri-
mary challenges shipping faces in terms
of its energy transition, and which specific
challenge they consider the most critical.
The “availability of alternative fuels” is
recognised as the most significant chal-
lenge by a large margin, with more than
one in two (54%) respondents choosing
it as the most critical issue.
