The “Stamos” was built by the Short Brothers Ltd. shipyard in Sunderland for the Fafalios family and had a capacity of 11,640
DWT. The vessel was launched on 14 November 1955 and delivered in April 1956.
The “Mediterranean Sky” (formerly known as the “City of York”, built in 1953) was bought by Karageorgis Lines in 1971, retro-
fitted to allow the transportation of cars, and put into service in 1974.
