BOAT SHOW
International Boat Show, held from 19 to 24 Sep-
tember and organised by Confindustria Nautica
(the Italian Marine Industry Association), which
represents the entire yachting industry supply
chain, and its operational subsidiary, I Saloni
Nautici. With most Italian businesses repre-
sented in the Show being members of Confind-
ustria Nautica, it should be stated that the Genoa
Show is an event organised by the industry, for
the industry – a fact that sets it apart from com-
peting shows.
A landmark event with more than 60 years of his-
tory, the Genoa Boat Show, was first launched on
27 January 1962, featuring 430 exhibitors from
18 countries, 254 of which were Italians and 176
from overseas.
Over the years, the Boat Show has evolved into
a major international event, with 2014 being a
landmark year as the Genoa Boat Show became
the most popular event in the Mediterranean,
attracting over 100,000 visitors and more than
750 exhibitors.
And what better city to host such an event than
Genoa, the traditional home of Italy’s yachting
sector, a port city brimming with maritime heri-
tage and a long-standing seafaring and nautical
tradition? The capital of the Liguria region has
always represented innovation, design, and tech-
nology, making it the ideal location to host a Boat
Show that is considered an international point
of reference, attracting visitors from all over the
world and showcasing the “Made in Italy” brand.
Every year, a significant number of top-of-the-
line boats and products are showcased, ranging
