It is worth noting that Facebook has become less popular
over the years. In the respective survey by Naftika Chronika
in 2020, 82% of first-year students answered that they used
Facebook regularly. In the same survey in 2021, the percent-
age was 67%.

Male first-year students use Facebook more than their female
counterparts. Facebook is used regularly by 62% of male
first-year students and 49% of female first-year students. In

One in two (50%) are regular TikTok users compared to 42%
of their male counterparts.
43% Almost three out of ten (29%) male and female first-year
